A two-day programme on self-defence for women is being held at Trio World Academy, Sahakarnagar this weekend.
The training is being imparted by commando trainer, Grandmaster Shifuji Shaurya Bhardwaj, who has embarked on Mission Prahar to empower one crore women in the country in self-defence.
The programme is open to girls above eight years old and older women. Already, over 30 lakh women across the country have benefitted from the training. The main purpose is to train women protect themselves when faced with danger.
Grandmaster Shifuji says “Empowerment needs to be self-driven. Attackers may come in any form and from any person. It is not always possible for a girl to find someone to defend her. This makes it necessary for every girl to train in self-defense, so that she can independently ensure her own safety. Mission Prahar’s sole objective is to train women in this stance, so that their safety rests in their own hands.’’
He goes on to add that complaining about the government, or your parents or others does no good. “It is important that you are responsible for yourself. Train yourself, get ready to fight and win!”
